Why this one
A tripod only earns its place if you are willing to carry it. This one collapses to roughly the length of a forearm and weighs about as much as a hardback, so it ends up in the bag instead of the cupboard.
The head is the part that matters. Three-way pan and tilt with full 360° rotation means you can frame a shelf, a doorway or a full-length mirror without shimming the legs with a book. The clamp opens one-handed and holds anything from a compact handset to a 10 cm-wide phone with a case on.
The remote pairs once over Bluetooth and then lives on a keyring. Ten metres is enough for a group shot, a product turntable or a video where you would rather not be behind the camera — and because it is a physical button, you are not racing a three-second self-timer.

Questions about this product
Will it hold a phone in a thick case?
Yes. The clamp opens to 10 cm, which covers most phones with a rugged case fitted. Phones wider than that will need the case removed.
Does the remote need an app?
No. It pairs as a standard Bluetooth camera shutter, so the built-in camera app on iOS and Android both respond to it.
Can the legs be used on uneven ground?
The feet are rubberised and the centre column has some independent tilt, but this is a tabletop-to-standing tripod rather than a levelling field tripod.
